ABOUT HALCYON SOUNDS

JULIA SCOTT-RUSSELL

HALCYON SOUNDS FOUNDER

Julia is a therapeutic sound practitioner who works with individuals and global organisations to help promote the unique benefits of Crystal Sound Therapy.

Julia effectively designs for her clients bespoke landscapes of sound to calm, soothe and bring stillness. From this expansive space, the sounds, tones and frequencies Julia creates, offers your mind and body a different sonic perspective to explore issues from new points of view, uncovering solutions that may have been overlooked.

Inspired by the positive effects on her own wellbeing, Julia has spent much of the past decade working to understand, develop and maximise the therapeutic effects of crystal sound. Her practised methodology now helps to create stillness in the mind and body of people from all walks of life, both in groups and one-to-one sessions.

In its most basic application, Crystal Sound Therapy provides an individual with the mental space to re-group, de-stress, calm anxious thoughts and quiet internal chatter. However, in Julia’s experience, she has come to view this as the groundwork for self-realisation and self-actualisation.

Within Julia’s therapeutic sound practice, her preferred instrument of choice are crystal singing bowls. Julia uses either her own personal collection of Alchemy bowls (which are made from quartz with gemstones, crystals or precious metals such as gold, platinum added), or pure quartz ‘Classic Frosted’ bowls, as well as other quartz instruments.

In 2014, Julia founded Halcyon Sounds as an organisation driven to promote wider crystal sound therapy practice across the private and public sector, and as a compliment for those undertaking professional talking therapies.

Halcyon Sounds aims to broaden public awareness and expound upon the exciting benefits from the therapeutic use of sound via collaborations, events, retreats, articles and a programme of professional training.

Julia with Halcyon Sounds is driven to promote wider crystal sound therapy best practice and collaboration with other sound / wellbeing / health professionals. Julia actively works to promote the best interests of those with whom she helps, leading the way in best practice and holding safe therapeutic space.

Julia believes it is essential for practitioners to be trained to consistently operate under the latest therapeutic best practice guidelines. As such, in 2018, Julia co-founded the Crystal Sonic Practice, under which she has co-written and co-delivers a programme of professional training courses with Genevra Jolie.

A curious, open-minded sceptic, Julia’s background in business management, film production and event co-ordination grounds her approach to wellbeing with an accessible and down-to-earth style.
